What is a reenforcement zone?
This is a place where the dog or cat or any pet gets a reward.
A reward can be anything treat, pat, vocal, toy
The reinforcement zone can be any position
The reinforcement zone can be changed to a position that suits you
We can use props to create a reinforcement zone boundary that helps you to build confidence.
Decide where your reinforcement zone is
For a great heel reinforce the position next to your leg on the side you walk your dog
For a great stay reinforce a place marker ( a table that all four feet fit on)
For great focus reinforce the sit facing your self.
Reinforcement of any activity will promote that activity so it is important to be sure that you only reinforce in position.
To do this you must first decided on a position. you can later begin a new reinforcement zone by changing your cues..
When training only reward in the zone, in the exact zone, for this purpose using a place marker helps to develop the zone, visually this supports you and helps you to perfect the reward.
