Senior Trainer- Lisa Hansen


Lisa Hansen is a founding member of PAWS Darwin and has worked with the organisation for more than 10 years , growing and developing the organisation into what it is today. She has a wide range of experience with dogs , cats and other animals and is passionate about education and about giving individuals the opportunity to do more with their pets and their lives. 

She believes that through non judgemental education and opportunity every one can be successful if they choose to be.

Lisa was awarded the Animal Hero Award in 2011 by the NT Government for her involvement in animal care in the NT.

As a Trainer she has had nearly 15 years of dog training or shall we say people training, while the methods may have changed over the years the foundations are still the same, respect the animal and the handlers with them and give them opportunities to succeed.

Her team of trainers started out with their own problem dogs and now share what they have learnt with others.

A published author her books help to understand where our dogs come from, how we can help behaviours, and how to help foster dogs.

Lisa has a passion for helping people have better lives, and she believes that animals help us to live our lives better, this has led her to begin training support dogs and the PAWS Darwin Heart Dog Program is the culmination of years of planning and training and learning and is finally begin to fruit. With both PAWS Darwin candidate dogs and Owner trained ESA dogs the program is off to a great start. 

Lisa is accredited, knowledgeable, experienced and constructive she is  available for assessments and for individuals needing support and help with their pets.
